This savory mojito sauce is the perfect way to add a touch of dairy-free goodness to any dish. Whether you eat meat or plants, this smooth, creamy green goddess sauce is the guilt-free topping you are looking for. Despite the name, this sauce actually contains no alcohol.
To mimic the taste of a rum mojito, I combined a handful of pineapple chunks with a little bit of almond extract. I use about a half of a teaspoon. This adds a nutty, sweet flavor without any alcohol. If you don’t care of almond extract you can omit it; just add another 1/4 teaspoon of coconut sugar.
To complete the mojito-ness, I added 3-4 mint leaves, 1 teaspoon of coconut sugar and the juice from one lime. For extra creaminess, add one avocado, your non-alcoholic “rum” mix, a little salt, 5-6 basil leaves and a cup of cilantro.
This sauce is so easy to make. You just combine all of the ingredients in a food processor or a high-powered blender and process until smooth. Store in the refrigerator and use within 3-4 days.
